the armorwall structural insulated sheatHing series by maxlife industries

ArmorWall sheathing is a high strength and fire resistant commercial exterior insulated wall sheathing product, commonly referred to as a SIS (structural insulated sheathing) panel. Combining the best traits of Magnesium Oxide (MgO), portland cement board, and polyurethane insulation allows ArmorWall to be unmatched within the marketplace. ArmorWall is among the world’s first structurally insulated sheathing panels which can be manufactured with various R-values utilizing our patented fusion technology while simultaneously meeting rigorous fire and building codes. This allows ArmorWall to meet the current and future Energy Code requirements of green incentive building code programs as well as the building codes themselves.

ArmorWall was developed after observing and analyzing failing results from third party forensic testing in which exterior walls would often leak over time. The number one litigation source in the construction industry is as result of  difficult detailing and installation of commercial walls due to the added requirements of continuous insulation (ci), air barriers, and water resistant membranes. Many designers have been forced to redevelop their standard details which had been used for decades within their firms. One such detail being the installation of glazing and finishes directly to the sheathing because of the requirement within new energy codes for continuous insulation. ArmorWall takes the commercial wall and completely innovates this installation by adding a structural element to the exterior face of the fused insulation layer. This innovation allows the designer to again use tried and true methods of the past making wall construction efficient, speedy, and code compliant.

Product Description

ArmorWall™ interior/exterior wall sheathing is a UL Classified and tested, high strength, fire resistant exterior insulated wall sheathing product, commonly referred to as an SIS (structural insulated sheathing) panel. MaxLife’s technology fuses a structural element to the exterior face of our fused insulation layer which modernizes the installation of commercial and residential wall assemblies. This innovation allows the designer to re-implement legacy design or frees them to wider creativity while maintaining wall construction speed, efficiency, and code compliance.

Within the MaxLife Industries series of armorwall products, ArmorWall™ NC is the factory non-coated panel. ArmorWall™ NC panels require a field-applied weather-resistant membrane prior to installation of exterior wall finish. Field application allows greater flexibility in choice of membranes which have been tested by MaxLife for compatibility and performance.

Among the factory-coated panels in the Armorwall series of products, ArmorWall VP arrives complete with a vapor-permeable weather resistive barrier coating. Once seam and fasteners have been sealed the envelope may be considered “dried-in” allowing interior construction to commence regardless of final exterior finish status.

Amongst the factory-coated panels in the armorwall series of products, ArmorWall NP has an applied non-permeable weather resistive barrier coating. Once seam and fasteners have been sealed the envelope may be considered “dried-in” allowing interior construction to commence regardless of final exterior finish status.

Product Description

MaxLife’s technology fuses a cementitious element to the exterior face of our fused insulation layer further making ArmorWall PB the most unique among that series in that it is also designed to be installed over a traditional weather-resistant barrier and gypsum sheathing wall framing assembly. The insulated Portland-cement board, with its integrated drainage plane on the rear, is designed to accept direct adhered masonry, EIFS, and stucco applications all while allowing a continuity between differing exterior finish materials and differing armorwall panels to which they are applied.

Product Description

ArmorWall BG is a below-grade factory waterproofed exterior wall sheathing with a UL Classified substrate that is a tested high strength fire resistant exterior insulated wall sheathing product that is designed to assist in insulating the slab edge and below-grade to above-grade transition that is often difficult to construct in the field. Combining the best traits of Magnesium Oxide (MgO) and urethane insulation allows ArmorWall to be unmatched within the marketplace.
