What is ArmorBoard Fire-Rated Structural Sheathing?
ArmorBoard Fire-Rated Structural Sheathing is a fire-resistant, high strength, durable structural sheathing material. ArmorBoard is made of a 1/2″ board of Magnesium Oxide (MgO). ArmorBoard can be used to create higher fire ratings in assemblies as required, as well as utilized in applications where field returns vary from standard provided sizes. ArmorBoard comes noncoated, or as ArmorBoard Plus.
What's the Difference Between ArmorBoard and ArmorWall?
ArmorWall Fire-Rated Structural Insulated Sheathing™
ArmorBoard Fire-Rated Structural Sheathing
ArmorWall Fire-Rated Structural Insulated Sheathing™ has a layer of poured polyurethane insulation fused to a 1/2″ layer of Magnesium Oxide board.
ArmorBoard Fire-Rated Structural Sheathing is ONLY the 1/2″ layer of Magnesium Oxide board.
ArmorBoard Returns are precision cut in the factory to aid in reducing installation time around punched openings or other large breaks in the wall. They offer a seamless and rapid plane transition to the structural surface while providing fire, air, and water-resistant barrier surfacing. ArmorBoard Returns are offered as noncoated or as Plus, Below Grade, or PermaBase® in 8-0″ lengths, with widths to match the depth of the assembly.
